Two customer stories: 96% less downtime, zero compliance shortcuts

Two Upsun Cloud customers, two very different starting points. Easypara needed to stop losing revenue to outages. ROLLIN needed to stop losing time to manual compliance checks on regulated client work. Here's how each one solved it.

Easypara: 96% less downtime, migrated in 30 days

Easypara is one of France's leading online pharmacies, running its store on Magento. Before moving to Upsun Cloud, the company was losing 20 to 30 hours of downtime a month, service interruptions that sometimes lasted four to eight hours at a stretch, on top of the operational burden of managing its own hosting infrastructure.

"Before Upsun, we had frequent service interruptions, sometimes lasting four to five hours, and we struggled to maintain site stability. Now, we have peace of mind, our site runs smoothly, and we no longer need to worry about late-night disruptions", said Isabelle Sarrazin, General Manager at Easypara.

The migration itself had to happen fast: Easypara's previous PaaS provider had gone bankrupt, and the team had 30 days to move its entire digital ecosystem, ERP, PIM, CRM, and OMS integrations included, without disrupting sales. Working with Upsun agency partner Agence Dn'D, the team containerized each Magento service into isolated environments, moved deployments onto automated CI/CD workflows, and set up dynamic scaling to handle high-traffic periods like a national television feature.

The results, verified 18 months post-migration:

• 96% reduction in downtime, eliminating 20 to 30 hours of monthly outages.
• Deployment-related downtime cut from 6 minutes to under 1 minute per release.
• No in-house system administrator required for hosting, freeing that headcount for growth work instead.

ROLLIN: compliance and accessibility, automated into every release

ROLLIN is a development agency headquartered in Canada, building and maintaining digital platforms for government and healthcare clients, where compliance and accessibility aren't optional line items. Before adopting Upsun Cloud, every release went through manual deployment validation: time-consuming checks for code quality, vulnerabilities, and accessibility, repeated by hand on every deploy.

"[We're a] small but mighty development agency,” as Sam Rollin, CEO and Managing Director, describes the team. The manual checks were doing their job, but they were slow and carried the same risk every manual process carries under deadline pressure: a step gets missed.

ROLLIN's fix was a three-stage GitHub Actions pipeline integrated directly with Upsun Cloud's Git-native environments:

• Code quality, enforced automatically via Coder and PHPStan on every push to develop, staging, and main.
• Security, via Composer audit and OWASP Dependency-Check, scanning dependencies before anything ships.
• Accessibility and compliance, via Pa11y, crawling the live Upsun Cloud staging environment for contrast, ARIA labels, and form semantics, surfacing issues without blocking the deploy.

"The accessibility check won't stop the deployment," Rollin explained. "But it gives us great visibility. It's good information for developers to know what can be improved."

The pipeline runs independently of Upsun Cloud's own deployment process, which gives the team reliable pre-deploy gates without coupling deployment to CI job state. Every passed pipeline generates a live review URL for stakeholders.

“That dynamic environment is really powerful. You can hand that URL to a client and show them tangible results,” Rollin said.

The result: automated validation that reduces the risk of human error on sensitive government and healthcare projects, and a repeatable framework the team now reuses across every new project. As Rollin put it: "Everything passes, it deploys automatically, that's where the magic comes in."

Two different problems, one underlying pattern

Easypara's problem was infrastructure stability. ROLLIN's problem was manual compliance overhead. Neither team set out to solve the other's challenge, and neither result substitutes for the other. But both point at the same underlying shift: when the platform handles environment consistency, deployment automation, and repeatable validation, teams get their time back, whether that time was going toward firefighting outages or manually re-running the same checks on every release.

That's the pattern worth taking away from these two stories, not that one customer achieved both outcomes, but that the same platform decisions, containerized and reproducible environments, automated CI/CD, checks that run consistently instead of by hand, show up as different wins depending on what a team was actually up against.
